“Art Inspires Poetry ~ Poetry Inspires Art,” the second event in the 2022 Great Lakes Poetry Workshop series, will take place on Saturday, May 14, from 11 am to 5 pm, at the Sackets Harbor Ballroom.
In this workshop, Hay Memorial Library offers participants the opportunity to learn from both Fine Artist Greg Lago and Poet and Author Dale Hobson. The event will begin with a conversation with both Lago and Hobson, regarding how art and poetry inspire and influence each other. Following a break for lunch, the participants will split into two groups: one group will participate in an Artist Workshop with Lago, and the other group will join a Writers Workshop with Hobson. The workshop will conclude with readings, an art show, and a reception for all involved.
“Art Inspires Poetry ~ Poetry Inspires Art” is limited to 24 participants (12 per group), so early registration is recommended. If you’d like more information about the event or to register to participate, please visit the Library’s website or call them at 315-646-2228.
Hay Memorial Library’s Great Lakes Poetry Gathering is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
