The Sackets Harbor Arts Center will host a reception to honor Jerry Merrill, the center’s July featured artist, on Saturday, July 1, from 1 to 4 pm, at the Arts Association of Northern New York (AANNY) building, located at 119 West Main St, in Sackets Harbor.
Wildlife Artist Jerry Merrill has painted and sculpted around the world, but he prefers to stay close to his native Adirondacks. His idealized landscapes and natural figures are simple, serene, and timeless. He works to capture the beauty of nature in oil paints, as well as snow and ice sculptures in winter.
The Sackets Harbor Arts Center will showcase his work throughout the month of July. If you’re interested in viewing selections of his artwork, the gallery will be open throughout the month on Wednesdays and Sundays, from 10 am to 4 pm; and on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 10 am to 7 pm.
