Writing the Land Poetry Workshop

Join local Poet Natalli Amato for a nature walk followed by a Writing the Land poetry workshop on Saturday, Aug 19, from 9 am to noon, in Sackets Harbor. The walk will begin at 9 am, at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site, and the class will begin at 10 am, at the Sackets Harbor Arts Center.

In this inspirational workshop, participants will interact with the natural world and explore our relationship with it through poetry. Reflecting on the rich landscapes of the North Country region, participants will engage in generative exercises that promote thoughtful consideration on the way the environment adds meaning and wonder to our lives. Participants will also examine the work of naturalist poets, write their own pieces, and share their work.

Participants should bring their own pens and notebooks to the workshop. The cost of the workshop is $75 for AANNY (Arts Association of Northern New York) members and $80 for non-members.
