The Sackets Harbor Arts Center will host a series of Realism Art Classes on Fridays in September, beginning on Sept 1 and continuing through Sept 22, from 2 pm to 3:30 pm each class, at the AANNY building, at 119 West Main Street.
In this class, Instructor Olivia Farrar will introduce participants to creating realistic artwork using graphite and colored pencils. The subjects of the artworks will vary each class, but all students will leave with new skills in realism. Students will have the option to follow step-by-step instructions to create a topical piece or work with the instructor to create an image or topic of their own choosing.
Each week of the Realism Art class features a different theme:
The realism classes are open to anyone aged 10 or older. The fee is $50 for Arts Association of Northern New York (AANNY) members and $55 for non-members for the full series. Individual classes are $18 for AANNY members and $20 for non-members.
Participants should register with the Arts Center in advance. The Arts Center and the instructor will provide all the necessary materials, although participants are welcome to bring their own pencils, if they prefer.
