SUMMARY:1812 Lacrosse Shootout Boys Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The Village of Sackets Harbor will host the annual 1812 Lacrosse Shootout Tournament over two weeks in July 2023 for boys and girls teams\, at Madison Barracks. \nThe series kicks off with a Summer Showcase event on Friday\, July 7\, at 8 am\, at the Madison Barracks Parade Grounds. Tournament play begins the next day\, with boys club teams playing on Saturday\, July 8\, and the boys school teams playing on Sunday\, July 9\, at the same location. \nPlayers have the opportunity to train during the series’ North Country Lacrosse Camp\, on Monday\, July 10\, and the Peak Goalie Clinic on Thursday\, July 13. Lacrosse tournament play concludes the following weekend\, with the girls club teams playing on Saturday\, July 15\, and the girls school teams playing on Sunday\, July 16\, at the Madison Barracks Parade Grounds. \nThe full Shootout series in Sackets Harbor wraps up with a final 1812 Gridiron Shootout Tournament on Saturday and Sunday\, Aug 5 and 6\, also at the Madison Barracks Parade Grounds. In its inaugural run\, 1812 Sports and Entertainment will host this 7 vs 7 football tournament\, with up-tempo game play for modified\, Junior Varsity\, and Varsity aged players. \nThe 1812 Shootout is presented by Ontario Bay Lax\, Maverik Lacrosse\, Cascade Lacrosse\, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. \nFor more information\, please visit the 1812 Shootout website\, or email the organizers using the link below.

SUMMARY:2023 Concerts on the Waterfront
DESCRIPTION:The Sackets Harbor Historical Society will continue its 2023 Concerts on the Waterfront series with Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra\, performing on Sunday\, July 9\, from 3 to 5 pm\, at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield\, located at 504 West Main Street. \nAlex Torres and His Latin Orchestra is a 12-piece band led by Bronx-born bassist Alex Torres. The group has been celebrated for their infectious blend of Afro-Caribbean rhythms\, and it has received numerous awards over the years\, including the New England Cultural Arts Preservation Award\, the New York State Music Achievement Award\, and the Governor’s Excellence in Arts Award. \nAlex Torres and His Latin Orchestra has shared the stage with such well-known acts as Tito Puente\, Arturo Sandoval\, Branford Marsalis\, and the Count Basie Orchestra. In addition\, the band’s music has also been featured in the motion pictures “Old Dogs” and “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby\,” as well as the television series “Ugly Betty\,” “Human Target\,” “Mistresses\,” and “The Blacklist.” \nThe Sackets Harbor Historical Society’s Concerts on the Waterfront series run on Sunday afternoons\, from June 25 through Sept 3\, 2023. Like all those in the series\, this concert is free and open to the public. It’s held outdoors at the Battlefield\, so remember to pack your picnic blanket or lawn chairs. \nIn case of bad weather\, the concerts will be moved to the Parish Center at St. Andrew’s Church\, which is located at the corner of East Main and Woolsey Streets.
