SUMMARY:Concerts on the Waterfront: The Joey Stempien Big Band
DESCRIPTION:The Sackets Harbor Historical Society will continue its 2026 Concerts on the Waterfront series with The Joey Stempien Big Band\, performing on Sunday\, July 26\, from 3 to 5 pm\, at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield\, located at 504 West Main Street. \nThe Joey Stempien Big Band showcases a new generation of jazz artists shaping the future of the big band tradition\, creating music that feels bold\, contemporary\, and deeply engaging. Members of the band are handpicked from among the most promising young jazz musicians from Eastman\, the University of Rochester\, and other regional schools. \nThe Historical Society’s Concerts on the Waterfront series run on Sunday afternoons\, from June 28 through Sept 6\, 2026. Like all those in the series\, this concert is free and open to the public. It’s held outdoors at the Battlefield\, so remember to pack your picnic blanket or lawn chairs. \nIn case of bad weather\, the concerts will be moved to the Parish Center at St. Andrew’s Church\, which is located at the corner of East Main and Woolsey Streets. The Historical Society will announce if a concert’s being moved on its Facebook page on the afternoon of the concert. \nThis concert is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program\, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council. \nFor more information on the concert series\, please visit the Concerts on the Waterfront event page on our website\, the Sackets Harbor Historical Society’s website\, or its Facebook page.
