DESCRIPTION:Concerts on the Waterfront #Separator Village of Sackets Harbor\, NYThe Sackets Harbor Historical Society will continue its 2026 Concerts on the Waterfront series with the 10th Mountain Division Army Band\, performing on Sunday\, Aug 30\, from 3 to 5 pm\, at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield\, located at 504 West Main Street. \nA perennial favorite\, the 10th Mountain Division Army Band is composed of 41 soldier-musicians\, capable of performing in a variety of configurations\, styles\, and venues. Based on Fort Drum\, the musicians perform a wide range of standard concert band literature\, including marches\, Broadway hits\, jazz standards\, classical works\, and popular music. \nThe Historical Society’s Concerts on the Waterfront series run on Sunday afternoons\, from June 28 through Sept 6\, 2026. Like all those in the series\, this concert is free and open to the public. It’s held outdoors at the Battlefield\, so remember to pack your picnic blanket or lawn chairs. \nIn case of bad weather\, the concerts will be moved to the Parish Center at St. Andrew’s Church\, which is located at the corner of East Main and Woolsey Streets. DESCRIPTION:Prep for the Boston Marathon with a challenging qualifier race at the 4th annual Sackets Harbor Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday\, Sept 6\, at 7 am\, beginning and ending at the Madison Barracks Polo Grounds in Sackets Harbor. \nAfter a fantastic debut in 2023 with more than 500 participants and increasing numbers of runners each year since\, the Sackets Harbor Marathon and Half Marathon is back for its fourth year! The organizers have designed a scenic race course that travels through the picturesque Village of Sackets Harbor and along Lake Ontario. The course is an out-and-back route with a gentle elevation gain\, which then heads back downhill towards the finish line. \nThe full marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier\, and both the full and the half marathon are certified courses. The full marathon course is 26.2 miles\, and the half marathon is 13.1 miles. \nRegistration is $129 for the half marathon and $139 for the full marathon\, and discounts are available for early registration and military/first responders. SUMMARY:Corn Maze at Old McDonald's Farm Opens
DESCRIPTION:Old McDonald’s Farm in Sackets Harbor will open its annual corn maze\, and kick off pumpkin season\, on Saturday\, Sept 12\, from 10 am to 6 pm\, at 14369 County Route 145. \nEnjoy some of your favorite fall activities at Old McDonald’s Farm this September and October. Get lost in the farm’s 14-acre corn maze\, which this year is themed “Cheers to 40 Years\,” with a festive cow image. You’ll find a small maze near the entrance that’s specifically designed for younger visitors with a special challenge sure to tickle the funny bone. That small maze leads kids through the “OMF” letters of the full maze. \nFor the more adventurous and energetic visitors\, the full maze offers a more challenging foray through the corn fields\, requiring a good sense of direction and a bit of word-smithing. Old McDonald’s Farm uses GPS and Precision Farming software and equipment to create the maze design and drop corn seeds exactly where they need to be in the spring to be ready for visitors in the fall. \nIn addition to the corn maze\, visitors can pick some pumpkins from the farm’s giant pumpkin patch\, indulge in a warm homemade cider donut\, take a hayride\, and admire the beautiful fall foliage. A visit to the farm also includes seeing the more than 200 friendly animals there\, playing in the bounce houses for small children\, barnyard basketball games\, mini-golf\, pig races\, a Reindeer Christmas Village\, and lots of great spots for photos.\nAdmission is $15.95 per person for ages 2 and up\, and pumpkins are available for an additional charge\, depending on their size. SUMMARY:Photo Exhibition at the Battlefield
DESCRIPTION:The Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site is featuring a free photo exhibition called “Reflections of the Past” at the Battlefield’s Red Barn building off Hill Street. \nLocal Photographer and Poet Daniel Kantak captured hundreds of images at the Battlefield’s 2024 North American War of 1812 Grand Tactical\, which make up this photo exhibition. In collaboration with the Battlefield\, Mr. Kantak has curated a collection of photographs from the large-scale event\, which saw nearly 400 reenactors and living history participants from the United States and Canada gather in Sackets Harbor. \nThe Battlefield’s Red Barn is showcasing a number of large-scale prints — along with one massive 9′ by 18′ outdoor banner image — for the public throughout the 2026 season at the Historic Site. The images capture the contrast of the dramatic military tacticals and the quiet times in the military camps\, as well as people going about day-to-day life. \nThe Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site opens for the 2026 season on Saturday\, May 16\, and it closes on Saturday\, Oct 10. The photography exhibition is open for viewing during the Battlefield’s normal hours. In September\, those hours are scheduled as Tuesday through Saturday\, from 10 am to 4:30 pm. Hay Memorial Library holds this event each year to celebrate the beautiful artistry of quilts and the artisans who create them. \nThe Sackets Harbor Quilt Show is a Hay Memorial Library Community Heritage Program\, and this year it will be on display for the community on Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday\, Oct 2\, 3\, and 4\, from 10 am to 4 pm each day\, at the (former) Union Hotel and the Sackets Harbor Visitor Center. \nThe theme for this year’s show is “Red\, White\, and Blue\,” and the challenge for quilters is to incorporate this theme into their original creations via classic block design\, modern quilting\, appliqué\, or embroidered embellishment. Quilters may submit their own creations that are no smaller than 24″ by 24″ and no larger than 50″ by 65\,” and the quilts should have been created between Jan 2025 and Sept 2026. The cost to enter a quilt in the show is $10\, and the show is limited to 25 entries\, which are first come first served. \nFor those interested in attending the show\, a $5 weekend passport allows you to visit the show as much as you’d like over the three days. DESCRIPTION:The United Presbyterian Church will host its Second Friday\, Free Movie event on Friday\, Oct 9\, at 6:30 pm\, at the Church\, at 101 South Broad St\, in Sackets Harbor. \nEach month\, the Presbyterian Church staff selects a movie to show to the community and hosts a discussion\, following the screening. Some of the films are comedies\, some are dramas\, and please note that some do have content that may not be suitable for children. Due to the nature of the Church’s license\, they are unable to advertise the title of the movie. However\, they often offer clues to what they’ll be showing on the sign in front of the Church and on their Facebook page. \nIf you’re game for a surprise — and some free popcorn — enter through the Fellowship Hall door or use the nearby handicap-accessible ramp door each month on the second Friday. \nFor more information\, please visit the United Presbyterian Church website and Facebook page.
