DESCRIPTION:It’s Sunflower Season at Old McDonald’s Farm in Sackets Harbor\, and they’re opening for two special sunset evenings on Friday\, Aug 28\, and Friday\, Sept 4\, from 5 pm to 8 pm. \nCelebrate the last few weeks of long summer evenings in Sackets Harbor by spending them among the sunflower fields at Old McDonald’s Farm. A visit to the farm includes seeing the more than 200 friendly animals there\, hayrides\, bounce houses for small children\, barnyard basketball games\, mini-golf\, pig races\, a Reindeer Christmas Village\, and lots of great spots of photos. \nIn addition to all that\, the Sunflower Season features a walk through the beautiful sunflowers and special photo opp spots with the sunflowers. Visitors can also opt to pick their own flowers to take home for an extra fee. \nAdmission is $15.95 per person for ages 2 and up\, and the public is welcome to attend. \nFor more information about the Sunflower Festival\, please call Old McDonald’s Farm at 315-583-5737 or visit the Farm’s website.

SUMMARY:Corn Maze at Old McDonald's Farm Opens
DESCRIPTION:Old McDonald’s Farm in Sackets Harbor will open its annual corn maze\, and kick off pumpkin season\, on Saturday\, Sept 12\, from 10 am to 6 pm\, at 14369 County Route 145. \nEnjoy some of your favorite fall activities at Old McDonald’s Farm this September and October. Get lost in the farm’s 14-acre corn maze\, which this year is themed “Cheers to 40 Years\,” with a festive cow image. You’ll find a small maze near the entrance that’s specifically designed for younger visitors with a special challenge sure to tickle the funny bone. That small maze leads kids through the “OMF” letters of the full maze. \nFor the more adventurous and energetic visitors\, the full maze offers a more challenging foray through the corn fields\, requiring a good sense of direction and a bit of word-smithing. Old McDonald’s Farm uses GPS and Precision Farming software and equipment to create the maze design and drop corn seeds exactly where they need to be in the spring to be ready for visitors in the fall. \nIn addition to the corn maze\, visitors can pick some pumpkins from the farm’s giant pumpkin patch\, indulge in a warm homemade cider donut\, take a hayride\, and admire the beautiful fall foliage. A visit to the farm also includes seeing the more than 200 friendly animals there\, playing in the bounce houses for small children\, barnyard basketball games\, mini-golf\, pig races\, a Reindeer Christmas Village\, and lots of great spots for photos.\nAdmission is $15.95 per person for ages 2 and up\, and pumpkins are available for an additional charge\, depending on their size. SUMMARY:The Scarecrow Scuttle 5k\, 10k & Family Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:Old McDonald’s Farm in Sackets Harbor has teamed up once again with The ARC Jefferson-St. Lawrence Foundation to host the 12th Annual Scarecrow Scuttle\, a 5k\, 10k\, and Family Fun Run/Walk\, at Old McDonald’s Farm on Saturday\, Oct 24. Check-in is from 8:45 to 9:45 am\, and the race begins at 10 am. \nSupport a great cause and spend some quality time outdoors with family and friends at this year’s Scarecrow Scuttle. The event is organized by The ARC to benefit those in Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties with developmental disabilities. \nRegistration is $50 per person for the 5k and 10k\, which includes an event t-shirt and runners medallion for all those who register by Oct 2. The registration fee increases to $60 on race day. Both races will be timed by Elitefeats. \nRegistration for the untimed Family Fun Run and Walk is $10 per adult\, $5 per child aged 4 through 12\, and free for those 3 and under. Event t-shirts are not included for Family Fun Run participants\, but they can be purchased\, along with a range of merchandise\, on the event’s website.
