The Village of Sackets Harbor has temporarily closed the Sentinel Bandstand, the public docks, and the two boat launches at Market Square Park on West Main Street through Oct 31, 2023. This area was closed in the fall of 2022 and is currently undergoing major reconstruction and improvements as part of a $2.5 million Lake Ontario Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative (REDI) project.
Improvements in Market Square Park will include:
- New public docks,
- Improved boat launches,
- An ADA-compliant kayak launch,
- Repairs to the Sentinel Bandstand, and
- Improvements to the sidewalks, landscaping, and furnishings in and around Market Square Park.
Unfortunately, due to the large scope of the project, the area will remain closed to the public this summer. The Village expects the work to conclude by Oct 31, 2023.
