Live at the Bandstand
Live at the Bandstand is excited to announce its third annual concert on Saturday, June 8, from 3 to 9 pm, at the Sackets Harbor Sentinel Bandstand, located at 304 West Main Street.
The event features multiple headlining musicians and has been dubbed the “All Headliners Festival.” This year, the acts include:
Tas Cru is a roots-blues musician from Syracuse, NY and a well-seasoned performer and entertainer. A festival favorite, he’s known for his ear-catching arrangements, his skillful guitar work and vocals, and his rapport with audiences. Tas Cru’s released six albums in the past eight years and has a repertoire of more than 100 original songs. His latest album, Tas Cru Band LIVE, is available on CD at his shows this year.
The National Reserve is an Americana band from Brooklyn, NY, who are making their second appearance at Live at the Bandstand (and in Sackets Harbor). The band is recognized for the energy and emotion they bring to their music, marrying R&B, funk, soul, blues, and rock and roll to create their own timeless brand of American music. The National Reserve has released a studio album, titled “Motel La Grange” and seven Bandcamp digital albums.
Stéphane Wrembel is a French jazz guitarist who performs Gypsy jazz and world music. A prolific musician, composer, educator, and musical director, Wrembel began his musical career at a young age playing classical piano, before taking up guitar as a teen to play rock music. He was inspired to shift towards jazz while he was studying at the American School of Modern Music in Paris. Wrembel has toured Canada, France, Israel, the UK, India, and Nigeria, and he’s appeared at the Montréal Jazz Festival, the Rochester International Jazz Festival, and many others. In addition, his music has been featured in two Woody Allen films, Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Midnight in Paris.
The Live at the Bandstand concert is free, and the public is welcome to attend. The concert will be outside at Market Square Park, and there’ll be food and beer trucks on-site for refreshments. So pack your picnic blankets and lawn chairs, and enjoy an early summer day filled with live music!
The event is sponsored by Live at the Bandstand Inc, a not-for-profit organization started by Ingrid Cleveland Gori in memory of her father, local resident John Cleveland, who ran the village’s annual Jazz Fest until 2008. The organization’s mission is to celebrate Cleveland’s love of music and use live entertainment as a means to connect people across cultural and political divides.
The event is also made possible in part with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. The regrant program is administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
