Sackets Harbor Quilt Show
Saturday and Sunday, Oct 1 and 2
Spend the weekend strolling historic Sackets Harbor’s sidewalks, and enjoy an array of colorful quilts displayed on porches, at local businesses, the Village Hall, Hay Memorial Library, and select historic sites across the community. Hay Memorial Library holds this event to celebrate the beautiful artistry of quilts and the artisans who create them.
The Sackets Harbor Quilt Show: Patchwork on the Porch is a Hay Memorial Library Community Heritage Program, and this year it will be on display for the community on Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2, 2022, from 10 am to 5 pm each day. The theme for this year is “A Change of Season,” and all the quilts entered will reflect seasonal change in some fashion. Quilters may incorporate traditional patterns and blocks, modern patterns, or their own original designs.
Hay Memorial Library is offering cash prizes for first, second, and third places, as well as an honorable mention award. The competition is limited to 25 entries, on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’d like to participate, please complete the entry form on the Library’s website or stop by to register in person at the Library, located at 105 South Broad Street.
For those interested in viewing the quilts, the Library will offer passports for $4 at the Village Hall and Hay Memorial Library. The Library will provide a complete list of display locations this summer.
Patchwork on the Porch is sponsored by Hay Memorial Library and made possible by the Village of Sackets Harbor. The event is supported by a grant from the Town of Hounsfield Committee for the Advancement of Tourism, as well as funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the Office of the Governor and New York State Legislature, and administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
