Sackets Harbor Quilt Show

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Oct 4, 5, and 6, 2024

Spend the weekend strolling historic Sackets Harbor’s sidewalks, and enjoy an array of colorful quilts displayed at select historic sites across the community. Hay Memorial Library holds this event to celebrate the beautiful artistry of quilts and the artisans who create them.

The Sackets Harbor Quilt Show is a Hay Memorial Library Community Heritage Program, and this year it will be on display for the community on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Oct 4, 5, and 6, at the Sackets Harbor Visitor Center and the former Union Hotel. The theme for this year is still to be determined, but all the quilts entered will celebrate it in some fashion. Quilters may incorporate traditional patterns and blocks, modern patterns, or their own original designs.

Hay Memorial Library is offering cash prizes for first, second, and third places, as well as an honorable mention award. The competition is limited to 25 entries, on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’d like to participate, please complete the entry form on the Library’s website or stop by to register in person at the Library, located at 105 South Broad Street.

For those interested in viewing the quilts, the Library will offer $5 passports for both locations. Passports are available at the door at both the Sackets Harbor Visitor Center and the former Union Hotel.

The Sackets Harbor Quilt Show is sponsored by Hay Memorial Library and made possible by the Village of Sackets Harbor. The event is supported by a grant from the Town of Hounsfield Committee for the Advancement of Tourism, as well as funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the Office of the Governor and New York State Legislature, and administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
