Inaugural Kids Ice Fishing Derby

Sackets Harbor will host the Inaugural Kids Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday, Feb 15, from 9 am to 4 pm, on the ice over Lake Ontario, near 1812 on the Lake (the former 1812 Brewing Company).

Bring the family out for a fun winter adventure during this new ice fishing derby! Participants can access the fishing area from the dock at 1812 on the Lake (off the back deck of the restaurant), and they’ll have a table, fire pit, and ice shanty set up nearby, so fish can be entered. They’ll also have an ice auger available for use and live bait available for purchase.

Children of all ages can participate in this event for $15 each, which includes two slices of pizza and hot chocolate. Participants should bring their own equipment (i.e. tip up, jig pole, and etc.).  First, second, and third place trophies will be awarded at the end of the event, and there’ll be a 50-50 drawing with proceeds benefiting the Sackets Harbor Fire Department.
