Join us at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site on Friday, July 7, from 10 am to 3 pm, when the past comes alive for this 1812 Living History Day.
This day of demonstrations is one in a series of free Living History events at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield throughout the summer, which began on Memorial Day (Monday, May 29) and continues through New York State’s Official War of 1812 Observance Day on Saturday, September 30.
For this event (weather permitting), the historic site’s 1812 Marine Guard and other volunteer living history presenters will recreate a soldiers’ encampment in the Memorial Tree Grove and portray aspects of life during the War of 1812 for soldiers, sailors, Marines, and the militia. Immerse yourself in our nation’s early history, and discover the stories of those who braved New York State’s northern frontier more than 200 years ago in war and peace.
This series is sponsored by the Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site’s Battlefield Alliance.
