Concerts on the Waterfront: The Brighton Beat
The Sackets Harbor Historical Society will continue its 2026 Concerts on the Waterfront series with The Brighton Beat, performing on Sunday, July 12, from 3 to 5 pm, at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield, located at 504 West Main Street.
The Brighton Beat is a large musical collective, mixing Afrobeat with modern jazz and brass funk to create their signature sound. The group has performed along the East Coast for more than 15 years, and they engage audiences in positive, uplifting performances that are fund for the whole family. Their repertoire includes instrumental songs with room for improvisation from the horn section, as well as performances with guest vocalists, audience participation, group sing-a-longs, and the occasional circus act.
The Historical Society’s Concerts on the Waterfront series run on Sunday afternoons, from June 28 through Sept 6, 2026. Like all those in the series, this concert is free and open to the public. It’s held outdoors at the Battlefield, so remember to pack your picnic blanket or lawn chairs.
In case of bad weather, the concerts will be moved to the Parish Center at St. Andrew’s Church, which is located at the corner of East Main and Woolsey Streets. The Historical Society will announce if a concert’s being moved on its Facebook page on the afternoon of the concert.
This concert is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
