The Sackets Harbor Arts Center will host a series of Creating Characters Classes on Saturdays in September, beginning on Sept 2 and continuing through Sept 30, from 11 am to 12:30 pm each class, at the AANNY building, at 119 West Main Street.
Join Instructor Olivia Farrar to learn how to recreate drawing of your favorite characters from history, literature, and your imagination. Farrar will teach participants the fundamentals of anatomy and figure drawing, as well as how to render people in different places and visual settings. Participants will have the opportunity to put their characters into completed, full-scale compositions.
Each Creating Characters Class features a different theme:
The Creating Characters classes are open to anyone aged 10 or older. The fee is $50 for Arts Association of Northern New York (AANNY) members and $55 for non-members for the full series. Individual classes are $18 for AANNY members and $20 for non-members.
Participants should register with the Arts Center in advance. The Arts Center and the instructor will provide all the necessary materials, although participants are welcome to bring their own pastels, paints, watercolors, pencils, and/or charcoal, if they prefer.
