Calling all young local and regional artists! The Sackets Harbor Arts Center is now accepting entries for its Solar Eclipse Art Show, which will open to the public on Saturday, April 6, at its gallery in the AANNY Building, at 119 West Main Street.
As Sackets Harbor prepares for the Total Solar Eclipse happening on Monday, April 8, the Arts Center is hoping news of the eclipse will spark some creativity among the area’s young artists. The deadline for entries is Thursday, March 28, so start creating your masterpiece(s) now!
The art show is open to artists between the ages of 5 and 18, and each artist may submit up to three works of art. The pieces must be solely created by the artist (no kits or prints allowed), and they may include dimensional art, drawing, mixed media, pastel, watercolor, acrylic, photography, and/or digital media.
Artists will compete in three categories: grades kindergarten through 3, grades 4 through 7, and grades 8 through 12. First, second, and third prizes will be awarded in each category.
This celestial-themed show is sponsored by the Arts Association of Northern New York (AANNY).
