The Sackets Harbor Arts Center will offer a series of three classes in Impressionism on Fridays in August, from 11 am to 12:30 pm each class, at the AANNY building, at 119 West Main Street.
Join Instructor Olivia Farrar for an introduction to the history and techniques of Impressionism. Students will learn how to make their own impressionistic versions of cities and landscapes, either inspired by real life or imagination. The instructor will guide participants through each step in the process to create their own artwork in pastels, paints, watercolors, pencils, charcoal, colored pencils, and another medium.
Each of the three classes will explore a different theme:
The impressionism classes are open to anyone aged 10 or older. The fee for the three class series is $50 for Arts Association of Northern New York (AANNY) members and $55 for non-members. If you’d like to attend just one class, the fee is $18 for AANNY members and $20 for non-members. Participants can bring their own paints, pencils, and other media if they prefer, or use those supplied by the instructor.
