The Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site will host a military tactical static display by the US Army’s 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, as part of the 51st annual Can-Am Festival, on Saturday, July 15.
At noon, a military fly-over will kick-off the Can-Am Festival parade, which travels along South Broad and West Main Streets in Sackets Harbor. The 10th Mountain Division will land Chinook, Blackhawk, and Apache helicopters at the Red Barn Lawn of the Battlefield, near the Hill Street parking lot, for the public to view.
In addition, soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division will participate in the Can-Am parade and park their vehicle, which the public can also view following the parade’s conclusion, at about 1 pm, on the Battlefield’s West Main Street Lawn.
