National Trails Day at the Battlefield

The Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site will celebrate National Trails Day with walks and a scavenger hunt on the site’s History Trail and the Village’s War of 1812 Bicentennial Trail on Saturday, June 7, from 10 am to 4:30 pm, at the Battlefield.
A US Department of the Interior-designated Recreation Trail, the Battlefield’s History Trail is a short (under one mile) loop through the Battlefield, on the shores of sparkling Lake Ontario. The History Trail connects to the village’s Bicentennial Trail, which allows for an additional 6+ miles of walking and biking enjoyment.
While at the Battlefield, pick up a scavenger hunt sheet and explore both trails to learn more about our unique history and view the lovely flora and fauna of the North Country.
The event is free, and the public is welcome to attend. For more information, please contact Constance Barone at 315-646-3634 or visit the Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site website.
