Revolutionary War Exhibition at the Union Hotel

“The American Revolution Experience,” a traveling Revolutionary War Exhibition, is now on display in Sackets Harbor through Wednesday, July 9, at the historic Union Hotel, at 401 West Main Street.

This traveling exhibition is a collaborative project of the American Battlefield Trust and the Daughters of the American Revolution. From its origins as an award-winning website, it has evolved to include an in-demand pop-up exhibition that’s passing through scores of libraries, historical societies, and museums throughout 2025.

“The American Revolution Experience” will introduce visitors in Sackets Harbor to a cast of historical characters with diverse experiences throughout the conflict and the places they visited on their journey. The innovative pop-up exhibition includes display panels and interactive digital kiosks that use storytelling, illustration, technology, and unique artifacts and primary accounts to connect modern audiences with the people and places that shaped the birth of our nation.

One of the Sackets Harbor Battlefield’s own exhibits connects New York’s North Country ties to the Revolutionary War, and that exhibit will accompany the traveling exhibition at the Union Hotel in a display called “The North Country and Sackets Harbor: Democracy in America.”

“The American Revolution Experience” is open to the public from Saturday, June 28, through Wednesday, July 9. The hours are Saturdays, from 10 am to 4 pm; Sundays, from 1 to 3 pm; and Tuesdays through Fridays, from noon to 4 pm. Admission is free.

This exhibition is sponsored by Northern New York’s LeRay de Chaumont Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and American Battlefield Trust, with matching funds from the National Park Service’s American Battlefield Protection Program battlefield interpretation grants.
