Saturday Crafts at the Pavilion

The Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site will host Paint Houses and the Stars Above, a Saturday Crafts at the Pavilion event, on Saturday, June 24, from 10 am to noon, at the Battlefield Pavilion, located just off Hill Street (by the big red barn).
Put your artistic skills to good use by painting tiny wooden houses using color markers. Use your imagination or draw some inspiration from the Commandant’s House at the Battlefield, where the navy commanders lived and later Mrs. Frances Metcalf, who became the only woman in charge of a US Navy station.
If houses don’t inspire your creativity, try painting the stars above and learn about the upcoming total solar eclipse in Sackets Harbor that’s happening on April 8, 2024.
The Saturday Crafts at the Pavilion series is new this year and is designed to engage children in creating a souvenir while learning a bit of history. The events and craft materials are free, and the public is welcome to attend.
