23rd Annual SpokerRide

On Saturday, July 26, the Village of Sackets Harbor will host the 23rd Annual SpokerRide, benefiting the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, and the Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc. The premier bicycle ride / bicycle race in the North Country, the SpokerRide has raised nearly $200,000 for cancer-related causes since its inaugural ride in 2003.

Organized by North Country Against Cancer, the annual SpokerRide is your chance to pedal through the breathtaking scenery of Sackets Harbor, where every turn promises a fresh wave of excitement. Feel the rush of accomplishment as you push your limits, whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a first-time rider. This event is more than just a bicycle race—it’s a festival of speed, endurance, and camaraderie. Lock in your spot, and be part of a community that celebrates health, joy, and the thrill of the ride.

This year’s SpokerRide will consist of three events:

• a 50-mile advanced course (timed), beginning at 8:30 am;
• a 30-mile beginner and intermediate course (timed), beginning at 8:45 am; and
• a 10-mile fun ride / novice course (untimed), beginning at 9 am.

All three events will start and finish at the Sackets Harbor American Legion Post 1757, at 209 Ambrose Street. Packet pick-up and race day registration both start at 7 am, at the Legion.

Lunch will be provided for all riders after the ride, and there will be food available for purchase by non-participants as well. An awards ceremony will immediately follow the ride. All riders are eligible for the grand prize, with a drawing to be held at the award ceremony. There will also be awards for the intermediate and advanced courses for fastest in each age/sex category. Additionally, there are numerous door prizes and giveaways during the awards ceremony.

Registration is $60 per rider for all races, with discounts available for early birds, online registrants, active duty military members, and veterans. Participants who register by Friday, July 4, will receive a free T-shirt with a guaranteed size. T-shirts will be included in late and race day registrations this year, though sizes will not be guaranteed.
