21st Annual Sackets Harbor SpokerRide

On Saturday, July 29, the Village of Sackets Harbor will host the 21st Annual SpokerRide, benefiting the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, and the Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc. The premier bike ride/race in the North Country, the SpokerRide has raised over $170,000 for cancer-related causes since its inaugural ride in 2003.

“We’re excited to be back again for another year of the SpokerRide,” said organizer Jeff Wood. “Last year, we marked 20 years, and it still feels like only yesterday that we started.”

This year’s SpokerRide will consist of three events:

• a 50-mile ride, beginning at 8:30 am;
• a 30-mile ride, beginning at 8:45 am; and
• a 10-mile fun ride, beginning at 9 am.

All three events start at the Hounsfield Town Offices, at 411 West Washington Street, in Sackets Harbor.

Registration is $60 per rider for all races, with discounts available for early birds, active duty military members, and veterans. The deadline for entries is Thursday, July 27. Participants can register online or by mail, and the details are on the SpokerRide registration page.
