The Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site and Hay Memorial Library will hold an Eclipse-Themed Story Walk on Saturday, Oct 7, from 10 am to 1 pm, at the Battlefield.
Celebrate Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day Weekend, while also getting ready for the upcoming Total Solar Eclipse in Sackets Harbor, with this Story Walk along Sackets Harbor’s nationally-recognized historic trail.
The theme of this year’s walk is “Battlefield Path of Totality: Eclipses and Other Solar Delights,” and the book to be featured on the Story Walk is “Exploring Earth: Bear’s Shadow,” a hands-on activity book, designed for younger visitors and their families to explore shadows.
The event is free, and the public is welcome to attend. The starting point is the Battlefield’s Picnic Pavilion, right next to the Hill Street parking lot.
