Sackets Harbor Quilt Show
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Oct 3, 4, and 5, 2025
Spend the weekend strolling historic Sackets Harbor’s sidewalks, and enjoy an array of colorful quilts displayed at select historic sites across the community. Hay Memorial Library holds this event to celebrate the beautiful artistry of quilts and the artisans who create them.
The Sackets Harbor Quilt Show is a Hay Memorial Library Community Heritage Program, and this year it will be on display for the community on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Oct 3, 4, and 5, at the (former) Union Hotel, the Sentinel Bandstand, and the Sackets Harbor Visitor Center.
The theme (or challenge) for this year’s show is “Along the Lake Shore.” The challenge for quilters is to incorporate this theme into their original creations via soft evening colors witnessed along the lake including indigo, dusky blues, sapphire, azure, and lavender. Quilters may use additional colors, but each quilt must be at least 50 percent in shades of blue.
Quilters may submit their works in one of two categories:
- Bed Quilts (between crib and standard throw size, or no smaller than 36″ x 52″ and no larger than 50″ x 60″)
- Wall Art Quilts (may be oriented vertically or horizontally, no smaller than 16″ x 20″ and no larger than 36″ x 48″)
The cost to enter a quilt in the show is $10.
The Sackets Harbor Quilt Show is sponsored by Hay Memorial Library and made possible by the Village of Sackets Harbor. The event is supported by a grant from the Town of Hounsfield Committee for the Advancement of Tourism, as well as funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the Office of the Governor and New York State Legislature, and administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
