The Arts Association of Northern New York (AANNY) will host an introductory class in Neurographic Drawing, on Sunday, July 10, from 3:30 to 5 pm, at the AANNY building, located at 119 West Main Street, Sackets Harbor.

Created by Russian Psychologist Pavel Piskarev in 2013, neurographic drawing is a unique art form that puts your mind into a relaxed state of flow. Just as dancers and other artists can cultivate energy through movement, fine artists can cultivate creative energy through drawing.

The drawings are fun to do, and the practice can be used as an art form, as a tool for mindfulness, and/or as a way to tap into your inner peace and joy. In this workshop, we will explore their use as a tool for increasing energy and creative flow.

The class is open to artists of all levels, ages 12 and up. The instructor asks that participants bring markers or colored pencils (at least one black marker or pencil and a few colors) and 8.5″ x 11″ drawing paper. The instructor also requests that all participants be vaccinated and wear a mask during the class.

The cost of this neurographic drawing class is $15 for AANNY members and $20 for non-members.

For more information or to register for the workshop, visit AANNY’s website, call the office at 315-646-3502, or visit the Arts Center in person, at 119 West Main Street.
