Book Signing at 1812 On the Lake

1812 On the Lake (formerly known as the 1812 Brewing Company) will host a book signing by author Tom Sileo on Tuesday, July 9, at 7 pm, at 212 West Main Street, in Sackets Harbor.

Bestselling Author Tom Sileo will be signing and promoting his new non-fiction book “I Have Your Back: How an American Soldier Became an International Hero,” the true story of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Michael Ollis and his selfless sacrifice to save the life of a foreign soldier. Deployed to Afghanistan from Fort Drum, Ollis gave his life to save Polish Second Lieutenant Karol Cierpica in 2013. Sileo’s book documents Ollis’ journey from his childhood in Staten Island to his time in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army.

The owners of 1812 On the Lake, Tom Scozzafava and Pearl Ashcraft, are happy to host the book signing here in the North Country. “We’re excited to bring this amazing story to Sackets Harbor, and we’re honored to help remember Staff Sergeant Ollis and his heroic sacrifice,” said Scozzafava.

Sileo’s book, “I Have Your Back,” was released on June 4, 2024, and he is currently touring across the East Coast of the United States. He is also the author of “Be Bold” and the co-author of “Brothers Forever,” “Fire in My Eyes,” “8 Seconds of Courage,” and “Three Wise Men.”
