Great Lakes Poetry Series: Part 3

Hay Memorial Library is proud to present the final workshop of its Great Lakes Poetry Series on Saturday, June 15, from 1 to 5 pm, at the (former) Union Hotel, located at 401 West Main Street, in Sackets Harbor.

This third and final workshop in the series is called “Introspection + Reflection: Building Stories,” and participants will explore the theme through words and photography. Participants are asked to bring their own cameras or cell phones that they’ll use to photograph historic buildings, monuments, and structures in Sackets Harbor. Local Poet and Photographer Dan Kantak and award-winning North Country Poet and Educator Laurie Petersen will guide participants in drawing inspiration from their building photos and composing evocative three-line haikus.

The three-part Great Lakes Poetry Series is designed to promote and encourage creative writing and artistic expression. The series began in April with a workshop titled “Read Between the Lines,” at Hay Memorial Library, and it continued in May with a workshop called “We Make Art, Art Makes Us,” at the (former) Union Hotel.

All of the events in the Great Lakes Poetry Series are open to the public, ages 16 and up, with a registration cost of $8 that covers all workshop materials and registration. If you’d like to participate in all three events, the registration is $20.
