July Featured Artist at the Arts Center

The Arts Association of Northern New York (AANNY) is showcasing the work of Bill Christopherson as its July featured artist at the Sackets Harbor Arts Center at 119 West Main Street.

A founding member of AANNY, Christopherson began his journey into the world of pure watercolor art in the late 1980s, taking instructional courses from renowned Thousand Islands Watercolor Artist Hans Junga. Pure watercolor is a painting technique requiring strategy and planning to capture the brightest lights and darkest darks of positive and negative spaces without adding opaque “whiteners” and “brighteners,” such as oil or acrylic paints, to a composition.

Christopherson will have many of his award-winning pure watercolor paintings, as well as a number of new works featuring the local area and his travels, on display at the Arts Center throughout the month of July.

Visitors can see Bill Christopherson’s work on display during the Arts Center’s regular hours:

• Sunday through Wednesday, from 10 am to 4 pm
• Thursday through Saturday, from 10 am to 7 pm
